One benefit of starting from scratch is that we got to do things exactly (mostly) as we wanted. We’d like to share our Contented Culture with you. If you’re interested in seeing how we did things, we’re more than happy to show you around. Reach out to us and we can set something up.
Cabin
See where it all started. We built this timber frame cabin in 2018 when we first moved onto the land. We’ve since built a barn and larger home we’d love to give you a tour.
Local Food
Perennials take time to come into production. Depending on what time of year you visit we might have some tasty fruit or nuts for you to eat. Otherwise there’s always annual veggies we grow and lots of great local farms to supply wonderful food.
Swimming Hole
All practicality aside, the real reason we bought the property was the swimming hole on Stony Brook that runs along the back end of the property. A waterfall drops down into a 7′ deep pocket. A five minute walk through the woods and a quick dip is a must do on a hot summer day.
Four Season Hiking
The swimming hole sits alongside a mile long trail that loops through the woods. Strapping on snowshoes or skis in the winter is a favorite way to take in the quiet of the snow covered trees in the winter.
